To provide access to prosperity for all in their community, CareerSource Flagler Volusia, the local workforce development board, and Daytona State College, a comprehensive Florida State College, have both implemented ELI Entrepreneurial Mindset training. By either teaching it as a standalone skill set, pairing it with career and technical education, empowering employed workers, or integrating into young adult programs, the leadership of these two entities have a common goal. To equip their community with the mindset that will propel them forward in personal and career empowerment pursuits equitably.

Dr. Sherryl D. Weems serves as the Associate Vice President for the Mary Karl College of Workforce and Continuing Education at Daytona State College. She has a long-standing record of dynamic leadership in higher education, having served in progressively responsible positions over the span of her career. Her professional profile is characterized by her sustained focus and commitment to economic and workforce development and to those who are targeted as underserved. She currently serves on the boards of the United Way of Volusia Flagler Counties and the Ormond Beach Family YMCA. She also has served as a member of the Ormond Beach Chamber of Commerce (Governmental Relations Committee).
Charlie Howell: Over the last 17 years, Charlie served as IT Director and CIO of CareerSource Flagler Volusia. In this role, he led the transformation from live workshops to interactive online workshops, converted the company from local storage and computing to cloud-based services and storage, and implemented an intensive cybersecurity enterprise. In 2017, Charlie became the Vice President of Business Development and Technology. This role includes creating partnerships with area businesses, defining and implementing solutions to business employment and training needs, writing policies, and administration of technology initiatives. Additionally, Charlie has served as the Chair of the statewide Workforce Information Technology Group. Also, as Secretary for the Volusia Community Organizations Active in Disasters.
Robin King: Robin King became the President & CEO of CareerSource Flagler Volusia in 2013, after a 24-year tenure with the organization. Her experience includes project management and analysis, grant writing, procurement, leadership, and economic and community development. Robin also serves on many boards for local economic development organizations, child welfare agencies, the United Way of Volusia and Flagler, One Voice for Volusia, and the Commission on Homelessness. The Daytona Regional Chamber recognized Robin for her community volunteer work with the prestigious Marvin Samuels Award. She was also awarded the President’s Call to Service Award. Named one of the area’s most influential women in business, Robin is committed to the development of a prosperous workforce and business community. She holds a strong belief in the value of teamwork between economic development, education, and businesses.
