ROCKY MOUNT, NC — The Small Business Center at Nash Community College proudly announces that it has received the prestigious NC IDEA MINDSET grant to provide critical funding for entrepreneurial education and support in the area. This grant will enable the Center to implement the nationally recognized Ice House Entrepreneurship Program, designed to instill an entrepreneurial mindset in aspiring business owners.
Under the leadership of Ruthie Holloman, NCC’s Director of the Small Business Center, this initiative will serve as a catalyst for individuals looking to launch or grow their businesses. Holloman, who earned her Gold Ice House Facilitator Certification in February 2024, has been instrumental in bringing this program to the community.
“The NC IDEA MINDSET grant is an incredible opportunity for our community,” says Ruthie Holloman, director of the small business center at NCC. “Through this grant, we can provide entrepreneurs with the practical skills and mindset they need to thrive. Whether you’re starting a new business or taking your existing business to the next level, the Ice House program will help you think strategically and with confidence.”
The NC IDEA MINDSET grant will support two key initiatives. First, the “Power of H.E.R.” (Helping Entrepreneurs Rise) is an annual event to empower and celebrate women entrepreneurs during Women’s History Month. After that, Launch Rocky Mount will guide participants through the Ice House curriculum.
